Superstitions

I play basketball games every tuesday nights.  We’re currently third in the ladder and there’s only five more weeks until we reach the finals.  My team has made it to the finals three times now and for three times we’ve failed and lost the grand final game.  It’s so dissapointing when you make it up to the mountain top, only to get kicked down and not get a chance to enjoy what is up there.Before a game is due to start (our games begin from 6pm onwards), I finish up at work and head home.  The routine begins from here; I’ll go to the local petrol station and get some gatorades or powerades since they often have 2 for the price of 1 sales going on.  I get home and just relax and drink up some water. 

Once I get home, I’ll just get my basketball gear out and ready and just relax.  Most people that I’ve known, that play basketball tend to watch videos of basketball footage, eg: Michael Jordan or Lebron James etc.  But for me I probably go backwards and instead watch porn.  Why porn you ask???  Because porn prevents me from thinking too much about the game I am about to play and pretty much eases my mind. 

I give myself 30 mins to get changed and I make sure that I wear the same things (of course after it’s been washed etc).  I put on my basketball shorts, jersey, wear my armbands and fingerbands, shin brace and my lucky naruto band which I wear around my ankles. 

From there I head to the basketball stadium, drive the same route and park in the same parking spot.  Before I get out of the car though the last thing I do is put on war paint, just a black line under each eye and I’m set to play. 

I’ve been doing this routine since coming back from the States and let me tell you that since doing this, my team has not lost a game.  So I’ve decided to stick to it and see how far it can take us.  If it fails then I’ll stick to it since we’ve won so many games and why change something if it’s been working. 

I’m just wondering since I’ve got a superstition thing happening if anyone else has their own routine for games, interviews etc.
